Research Focus

Olga Startseva joined the Institute for Innovation and Digitalisation in Law in January 2023. She holds an LLM in International Law and Law of International Organizations with a specialization in Human Rights from the University of Groningen. Prior to this, she served as a lawyer at the Human Rights NGO Citizens’ Watch in St. Petersburg, Russia, and as a Senior Lecturer at the National Research University Higher School of Economics (St. Petersburg campus). Her research interests encompass topics such as questions of consent under the GDPR from patients potentially in vulnerable positions, other issues related to data protection, and the human rights implications of classifying patients with the assistance of AI systems.
