Research Focus

Rodessa joined the department as a Research Associate in September 2023 and is currently involved in EU and third-party-funded projects, specifically in AI in healthcare research. She provides an interdisciplinary perspective on how AI and digital technologies can be applied effectively and responsibly in real-world environments.

Rodessa earned her BA in Sociology and MA in Industrial Relations from the University of the Philippines. In February 2023, she obtained her Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s degree in Digital Communication Leadership with a specialization track on Digital Policy and Innovation in Europe from Universität Salzburg and Vrije Universiteit Brussel.

Before joining the department, she worked for the Brussels-based non-profit organization Privacy Salon and was part of the organizing team of the CPDP 2023 Conference.

Rodessa is currently writing her PhD in Science and Technology Studies; her research revolves around the critical reflection of the value of big data, delving into the socio-technical complexities of data infrastructure and exploring ways to materialize the environmental footprint of our digital activities in a datafied society.
