Research Focus

Lukas Faymann has been a research associate at the Institute since May 2021. He studied law at the University of Vienna and at Santa Clara University where he specialised in technology law, intellectual property, data protection law and business law. During his studies, Lukas worked at law firms in Vienna with a focus on business law and intellectual property and gained international experience at the Austrian Foreign Trade Centre in Abu Dhabi. At the institute, he mainly works on the projects ACTING, BIOMAP, and eBRAIN-Health, where he deals with digitalisation and data protection in medical research and the cyber security sector. Lukas also heads the Vienna Art Law Clinic, which was established at the institute in 2022.
