Deniza Beslinger
Deniza Beslinger was a student assistant in the Legal Design Sprint project organized by the Department of Innovation and Digitalisation in Law in cooperation with the Vienna Chamber of Labour from March to October 2023.
Deniza Beslinger studies law at the University of Vienna and has already gained valuable international experience during a semester abroad at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM). In 2019, she successfully participated in the Frankfurt Investment Arbitration Moot Court.
Maximilian Engel
Maximilian Engel worked as a university assistant on the team of Professor Iris Eisenberger (LSE) from July 2024 to January 2025. He worked as a member of the academic staff at the Austrian Supreme Administrative Court from October 2020 to mid-July 2024. He passed the service examination in April 2024. Before that, he worked as a trainee at the Austrian Federal Administrative Court and the Federal Ministry of Social Affairs. He also worked as a legal trainee in the district of the Vienna Higher Regional Court.
Maximilian Engel studied Law at the University of Vienna and Applied Media Management at the Mittweida University of Applied Sciences. During his studies, he worked as a student assistant at the Department of European, International and Comparative Law in Professor Ofner’s team (from March 2018 to January 2019) as well as in Professor Trstenjak’s team (from March 2016 to February 2018).
His research interests are mainly (comparative) constitutional law, administrative procedural law and the regulation of AI.
Magdalena Nemeth
Magdalena Nemeth worked as a university assistant at the Department of Innovation and Digitalisation in Law from April 2022 to May 2025. Before that, she worked as a university assistant at the University of Graz in Austria on the team of Professor Iris Eisenberger at the Department of Public Law and Political Science from April 2020 to February 2021. She has worked on the Horizon 2020 project ETAPAS and the research project REASON. From March 2018 to February 2020, she was first a tutor, then a student assistant and member of the academic staff on the team of Professor Eisenberger at the Institute of Law at BOKU University. Before that, she worked at the law firm Mag. Schmutzer & Mag. Ott-Sander and in Canada in the legal department of the insolvency consulting firm Sands & Associates.
Magdalena Nemeth studied Law at the University of Vienna. She is writing her doctoral thesis on state crisis communication and freedom of communication. Her research interests also include technology and innovation law.
Oliver Mörtl
Oliver Mörtl worked as a student assistant at the Department of Innovation and Digitalisation in Law from April 2024 to June 2025. He was a student assistant at a law firm in Vienna from October 2023 to September 2024. Before that, he worked as a student assistant at the Department of Civil Law on the team of Professor Christian Rabl from October 2020 to June 2023.
Thomas Zhegu-Binder
Thomas Zhegu-Binder worked as a university assistant at the Department of Innovation and Digitalisation in Law from April 2023 to November 2025. He worked as a member of the academic staff at the Austrian Supreme Administrative Court from October 2020 to April 2023. Prior to that, he completed a legal traineeship in the district of the Vienna Higher Regional Court, after working as an intern and as a legal associate at the Austrian Financial Market Authority from January 2018 to November 2019.
Thomas Zhegu-Binder studied Law at the University of Vienna. His research focuses on constitutional law, administrative procedural law and asylum law.
