Maximilian Bauer has been a university assistant since February 2025. During his law studies, he spent a semester abroad at the University of Leiden and worked as a student assistant at the Department of Innovation and Digitalisation in Law and the Department of Roman Law and Ancient Legal History. In addition, he completed a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, which allowed him to deepen his understanding of the interdisciplinary intersection of security, technology, and law.

As part of his doctoral research, Maximilian Bauer focuses on the exchange of information between police authorities within the European Union for the purpose of crime prevention.
