eBRAIN Health

eBRAIN Health ‘Actionable Multilevel Health Data’ is a Horizon Europe (Grant Agreement 101058516) project running from 2022 to 2026. The project aims to provide a data-protection compliant research platform for simulating and modeling complex neurobiological phenomena of the human function and dysfunction. Additionally, the project works on providing interdisciplinary digital brain twins to advance research into neurocognitive conditions, such as dementia. The EBRAINS-Health-Cloud research platform constitutes a blend of three large-scale research programs: the FET Flagship Human Brain Project with its EBRAINS Research Infrastructure, the EOSC project Virtual Brain Cloud with its Virtual Research Environment for sensitive data and the H2020 project AI-MIND with intelligent tools for dementia risk estimation. eBRAIN-Health touches upon topics of the EU Digital Europe Programme funding programme, including artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity and supercomputing and the European Health Data Space. The project consortium consists of 20 partners, including universities and research institutions.

The vision of the eBRAIN-Health project can be accessed on the project website. More information on the project can be found on u:cris.

The University of Vienna Department of Innovation and Digitalisation in Law leads Work Package 2 – Ethics & Legal – which focuses on topics, such as data protection, lawful use AI in medical research, secondary use of data as well as ethical questions concerning these issues.
