Recommendation on the protection and use of health-related data – Special Rapporteur for the right to privacy – Published

On 29 October 2019 the "Recommendation on the protection and use of health-related data" was presented by the Special Rapporteur on the right to privacy (‘SRP’) during the Third Committee 35th meeting of the General Assembly, 74th session. Prof. Nikolaus Forgó, Chair of the Health TASk force established by the SRP, accompanied by his team Marie-Catherine Wagner and Mariana Rissetto, worked on the development of this recommendation.

The "Recommendation on the protection and use of health-related data" was presented by the Special Rapporteur on the right to privacy ('SRP'), Prof. Joseph Cannataci, during the Third Committee 35th meeting of the General Assembly, 74th session, which took place on 29 October 2019. Nikolaus Forgó, Chair of the Health TASk force established by the SRP, accompanied by his team Marie-Catherine Wagner and Mariana Rissetto, worked on the development of such recommendation, which provides guidance on how health-related data shall be protected in a global context; taking a cut-edging approach to genetic data, scientific research, and AI, among others.
