The UNIVIE Team is a proud Partner of the SOLACE Project, which has been running since April 2023 and deals with lung cancer screening in Europe. The Project brings together a total of 37 partners (universities, university hospitals and other healthcare providers, a research institute, health authorities, patients and professionals organisations, associations, and a research management organisation), from 15 Member States of the European Union.
Representatives of all Partners gathered at the House of the Czech Association of the Scientific and Technical Societies – the venue elected for the meeting – and discussed the most pertinent matters to the Consortium. Day 1 focused on updating Partners and external experts (from the European Commission / European Health and Digital Executive Agency, Stakeholder Advisory Board, Science and Ethics Board & Evaluation Working Group) on the Project’s developments. UNIVIE, as Partner dealing with matters related to legal and ethical compliance, was closely involved in the discussions pertaining to the Project’s data sharing operations.
The second day of the meeting – restricted to participants who are Consortium members – provided a forum for an insightful exchange on topics such as the sustainability of the Project, collaborations with other networks and research initiatives, envisioned publications and other outreach activities. The Steering Committee Meeting then followed during the early afternoon of that 2nd day.
UNIVIE would like to thank TN for their hosting efforts as well as the Project’s Coordination Team, for making the meeting possible!
