The Global Partnership on AI (GPAI) has been established In order to support and guide the responsible adoption of artificial intelligence (AI). It consists of leading experts in the field of digitalisation and AI worldwide. Christiane Wendehorst is part of the Working Group on Data Governance and chairs the project to create a Data Governance Framework.
The Data Governance Working Group has a mandate to collate evidence, shape research, undertake applied AI projects and provide expertise on data governance, to promote data for AI being collected, used, shared, archived and deleted in ways that are consistent with human rights, inclusion, diversity, innovation, economic growth, and societal benefit, while seeking to address the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Wendehorst can build on her longstanding experience in the field of data law, not least as European lead of the “ALI-ELI Principles for a Data Economy”, as Co-Chair of the Data Ethics Commission of the German Federal Government, and as an expert advising the European Commission.
More information about GPAI will be published and an official website launched after the first plenary meeting in Montréal in December 2020 (for preliminary information see https://oecd.ai/wonk/an-introduction-to-the-global-partnership-on-ais-work-on-data-governance).
