In her introductory lecture, Christiane Wendehorst explained the regulatory challenges posed by the increasing spread of AI systems. These challenges are to be met with the EU Artificial Intelligence Act (AI Act). Detailed explanations of the new regulation can be found in the large commentary on the Artificial Intelligence Act published by Christiane Wendehorst and Mario Martini (Martini / Wendehorst | KI-VO: Verordnung über Künstliche Intelligenz | 1. Auflage | 2024 | beck-shop.de).
Christiane Wendehorst also recently dealt with the definition of the ‘AI system’, which is central to the regulation and has been controversial to date, in an article published together with Bernhard Nessler and other authors.
