"Whistleblower Protection": Invitation to the panel discussion on 17 October 2023

17.10.2023 17:30 - 19:30

Implementation of the EU Whistleblower Directive in Austria and successful application of the requirements in companies

The EU Whistleblower Directive was transposed into national law in February 2023, creating a new cross-sectoral protection right for whistleblowers. According to the Whistleblower Protection Act ("HSchG"), companies with more than 50 employees must set up internal reporting offices by the end of August. For companies with less than 250 employees, this deadline has been extended to 17 December 2023.

On this occasion, the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber, together with the Institute for Innovation and Digitalisation in Law, is organising an event to discuss the implementation of specific requirements in national law (e.g. group exemption, administrative penalties) and their implementation in companies (e.g. digital reporting channel, dealing with anonymous reports).
