The 1st International Symposium on Symbiotic Intelligent Systems

The Department of Innovation and Digitalisation in Law, University of Vienna, was represented by Žiga Škorjanc at the 1st International Symposium on Symbiotic Intelligent Systems organised by Symbiotic Intelligence Systems Research Center at Open and Transdisciplinary Research Initiatives, Osaka University.

The 1st International Symposium on Symbiotic Intelligent Systems introduced the aim of the Symbiotic Intelligent Systems Research Center, which is to build a future robot society, in which robots assist people in activities of daily living, as a successor to the contemporary information society. 

Žiga Škorjanc contributed with a speech on “EU Data Protection Law in the Age of Digitalisation” that presented the recent developments in the European data protection law, primarily the GDPR, and their adequacy for the digital age. Additionally its interplay with Japanese data protection regime will be highlighted.
