Rodessa May Marquez, MA
Rodessa works as a Research Associate at the Department of Innovation and Digitalisation in Law at the Faculty of Law at the University of Vienna and is currently involved in EU and third party-funded projects, with a focus on the digital health domain. She has obtained her Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters Degree in Digital Communications Leadership, specializing in Digital Policy and Innovation in Europe from Universität Salzburg and Vrije Universiteit Brussel. She is a doctoral student at the Department of Science and Technology Studies at the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Vienna under the supervision of Univ-Prof. Ulrike Felt.
"Digital health infrastructures: Between promising sociotechnical futures and challenges of environmental sustainability"
Rodessa’s dissertation reflects on the narratives that shape and influence the research infrastructure development within the digital health domain. Her research explores the competing values of advancing health research using digital technologies and the environmental sustainability challenges of digitalisation. She focuses on European research infrastructures to understand how digital health actors regard the environmental impact of their data practices and how they frame environmental sustainability visions for the health domain.
