Research Focus

Katerina Polychronopoulos is a lawyer who received her Juris Doctorate in 2012 from the University of Illinois. Before moving to beautiful Vienna, Katerina worked as an associate attorney at several large California firms where she was involved mainly in million-dollar complex construction and government contract disputes. She served as an extern for the Honorable David G. Bernthal in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of Illinois and as a law clerk for the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Central District of Illinois during law school. Katerina’s research focuses on IT/IP-law, with a specific concentration on data protection, privacy, platform regulation, and their application to the creation and administration of large medical research and law enforcement databases.
