Christiane Wendehorst will speak at a workshop focusing on the importance of promoting more responsible and efficient sharing of AI data and models to unlock the potential of AI.

Christiane Wendehorst will speak at a workshop "Exploring Pathways to the Standardization of Licenses for Data and Machine Learning Models" on 27 and 28 April. The workshop is jointly organised by GPAI, the Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition and Duke University. The workshop will focus on the importance of promoting more responsible and efficient sharing of AI data and models to unlock the potential of AI.

As Wendehorst has unique expertise and experience in the field of AI and the European liability framework, she will give an introductory overview of the AI Liability Directive and the latest developments in the European Union.

Christiane Wendehorst has been deeply involved in preparatory academic work leading up to the proposal for an AI Act and an AI Liability Directive. Together with colleagues she co-authored a Commission Expert Group report on “Liability for AI and other Emerging Digital Technologies” as well as a full draft proposal by the European Law Institute (ELI) for a new Product Liability Directive. With Yannic Duller, she also co-authored a study for the European Commission on “Safety and Liability Related Aspects of Software”.
