According to § 15 Abs 1 Z 7 DSG, BGBl. I Nr. 165/1999, the Data Protection Council must appoint two experts from the field of data protection as members of the Austrian Data Protection Council. The pleasure to be chosen as an expert member of this Data Protection Council was first granted to Prof. Nikolaus Forgó in 2018.
Due to the early election of the National Council in 2019 the Data Protection Council had to be convened again, leading also to the necessity to appoint two new experts from the field of data protection. Prof. Nikolaus Forgó was reappointed as such an external expert member of the Data Protection Council.
The Data Protection Council is integrated into the Federal Ministry for the Constitution, Reforms, Deregulation and Justice, further information on the Data Protection Council can be found on its website.
