The Department of Innovation and Digitalization in Law exists since 2017 as a research and teaching institution of the Faculty of Law.
We mainly deal with the impact of IT on the legal system from a European perspective. We are looking for open-minded, innovative and productive colleagues willing to work in an international and interdisciplinary environment.
Your personal sphere of influence:
As a research associate you will complete the research team around Univ.-Prof. Dr. Nikolaus Forgó and take over tasks such as collaboration and research in EU projects.
The focus of our research is on data protection, fundamental rights, European law and cybersecurity.
Our Team Forgó currently consists of 2 post docs, 5 prae docs, 3 stud. ass./ E-Mu`s, 16 research associats and 1 administrative colleague.
As a team, we understand how to exchange informations about current topics and projects in project meetings as well as how to deal with each other in a respectful and cordial manner.
Your future tasks:
You actively participate in research & administration, which means:
- Participation in research projects/ in scientific studies
- Participation in the organization of meetings, conferences, symposia and project meetings
- Participation in the department, teaching and research administration
- You can work on your dissertation and its completion, but this is not a contractual obligation
- You can hold courses independently, which is up to your personal preferences
This is part of your personality:
- Completed Master's degree or Diploma, in the field of law
- Basic experience in academic writing and with research methods
- Initial experience in the acquisition/ realization of (third-party funded) research projects is desired
- Excellent command of written and spoken English (min. C1 Level), good command of any other language is a plus
- IT user skills: e.g. MS Office
- You should be a team player with high social skills
- Willingness to participate in international and interdisciplinary research
- Interest in IT and digital media
- High willingness to travel is required

The duration of the contract upon employment is initially 12 months with the option of extension. At the hours we are flexible, we offer 20 - 40 hours.
