What are the main challenges for consumers and companies in the digital transformation? Do traditional concepts of consumers protection need to be reconsidered?
The fitness check for digital fairness: Christiane Wendehorst will join the podium on 27 February 2024 starting at 13:00 to discuss the digital transformation. At this consumer dialogue organised by the Ministry of Social Affairs and the European Commission, participants will discuss the implementation of the EU Consumer Agenda and explore the question of whether the new EU regulations ensure effective consumer protection.
In a study for the Federal Ministry of Social Affairs, Health, Care and Consumer Protection, Wendehorst analysed the consumer perspective on the proposal for the AI Act.
Wendehorst also identified selected problems for consumer protection in connection with new digital technologies. In the Consumer Policy Yearbook 2023, Wendehorst addressed the role of consumers in the data economy.
Due to popular demand, interested parties can only take part in this year's consumer dialogue online. And if you can't make it to this event, you can watch the entire discussion on YouTube for a month after the event. English translation will be provided! More information here.
