12.09.2023 15:43 - 13.09.2023 00:00

Iris Eisenberger will speak on "Environmental Protection through Supply Chain Regulation" on 13 September 2023 as part of a cooperation between the Faculty of Law of the Universities of Vienna and Kyoto University.

Human rights, environmental protection and workers' rights are at the focus of a conference organised by the “Institut für Arbeits- und Sozialrecht“ together with the Faculty of Law of Kyoto University from 11-13 September 2023 on the top floor of Juridicum.

An EU directive, the final version of which is currently being negotiated, will require European companies to exercise due diligence in respecting human rights, environmental and labour rights issues: The design of supply chains is not only a logistical problem, but in a globalised world it is essential for the living conditions of all people.

The conference will take place within the framework of the cooperation between the Faculty of Law of the Universities of Vienna and Kyoto University, which has existed for more than 30 years, and the strategic partnership agreement that has been in place between the University of Vienna and Kyoto University since 2019.

The lectures will be held in German or English; participation is free of charge.
