EMIF Symposium ‘Liberating evidence from European health data’

More than 115 attendees will join the symposium of EMIF to discuss issues around European health data.

To help improve access to patient-level health data, the European Medical Information Framework (EMIF) was launched in January 2013. The EMIF project is a five-year project and during this time it aims to develop common technical and governance solutions and improve access and use of health data.

The symposium EMIF organises will take place on April 18, 2018 at Hotel Bloom, Brussels (Belgium). Due to its diverse agenda, the symposium hopes to bring together various stakeholders in the domain of (re)using health data for research, and to exchange views and experiences obtained in past and in ongoing large-scale projects. During this one-day meeting, a broad range of topics linked to the (re)use of health data, such as its benefits and challenges, the legal and ethical concerns and a look into the future of the European healthcare ecosystem. In that context Professor Nikolaus Forgó will contribute to this discussion by speaking about "Data protection under GDPR".
