On September 10, 2024, Professor Wendehorst participated as an expert in the screening of the documentary Eternal You and the subsequent panel discussion, organized by the Office of the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media (RFoM) and the Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs (BMEIA) in collaboration with Filmdelights.

Directed by award-winning filmmaker Hans Block and co-director Moritz Riesewieck, Eternal You explores the fascinating yet unsettling world of generative AI. The film examines how this technology is used to enable "communication" with the deceased and sheds light on the emerging digital afterlife industry. It raises profound ethical, human rights, and security-related questions, particularly concerning dignity, autonomy, post-mortem privacy, and the risks of manipulation.

Following the screening, Professor Wendehorst, alongside other distinguished experts, discussed ethical issues, the right to privacy, and the integrity of information in the age of generative AI.
