Christiane Wendehorst at the GSV Forum

13.11.2024

On November 11, 2024, Christiane Wendehorst delivered a keynote at the GSV Forum titled “Data from Cars – Who Decides What Happens to It?” about this topic.

Modern cars collect a vast amount of data, yet control over it currently lies with manufacturers, not drivers. This raises several questions: Who is responsible for data protection? How can roadside assistance services or independent workshops access vehicle data? How can data security be ensured while allowing other providers to develop new business models? What changes will the EU Data Act bring—or will there be a specific regulation for vehicle data? These and other topics were discussed at the GSV Forum.

The GSV is a platform that brings together all modes of transport—road, rail, waterways, aviation, and pipelines—as well as key infrastructure operators. It is committed to building a sustainable, multimodal, and affordable transport infrastructure.
