Christiane Wendehorst spoke at the 6th International Forum Computational Law (IFCL) organized by Tsinghua University on 21 October 2023. Tsinghua University is one of the most prestigious universities in China and constantly ranked among the top universities worldwide by international rankings.

In her keynote on "AI and Protective Regulatory Regimes", Christiane Wendehorst gave an overview of the different legal regimes that any development and deployment of AI in the European Union must comply with and therefore explained the connection between artificial intelligence and data protection.

As one of the most renowned European legal experts in the field of Artificial Intelligence, the Data Economy and Data Privacy, Wendehorst has developed a range of concepts that have had a significant impact for politics and business.

Few examples of these publications dealing with the legal framework of AI are the following:

Wendehorst co-chaired the German Federal Government's Data Ethics Commission, which developed ethical guidelines and concrete recommendations for action in its report on artificial intelligence.

The opinion of the European Law Institute (ELI) on the White Paper on Artificial Intelligence, which she co-authored with Prof. Jens-Peter Schneider, had an influence on the development of the AI Act.

Wendehorst also created a study together with Yannic Duller for the European Parliament on biometric recognition and behavioral detection assessing their ethical aspects.
