IDLaw at the HELT 2026 at the Vrije Universiteit in Brussel

On April 23, a team from the Department of Innovation and Digitalisation in Law is organising a workshop at this year’s Health, Ethics, Law, and Technology (HELT) Symposium on “Who will benefit from the EHDS?

Benefit sharing in the framework of the EHDS Regulation”.  The workshop aims to spotlight the voices of young academics and legal professionals, amplifying their valuable insights to the forefront of academic, legal, and policy discussions. It will bring together perspectives and learnings from four different third-party funded research projects, which deal with secondary use of health data and new technologies: BBMRI.at, eBRAIN Health, PräNUDGE, PHASE IV AI

The interdisciplinary event is hosted by the Vrije Universiteit Brussel Health and Ageing Law Lab (HALL).The 4th HELT Symposium will bring together people from academia, industry, large research organisations and SMEs, healthcare providers and public institutions.

Taking place on April 23, 2026, from 11:25 to 12:55, the workshop will be held at Sparks Meeting, Rue Ravenstein 60, Brussels, Belgium – Balcony (Room 7).

Representing the Department will be Catarina ALMEIDA (“BBMRI.at”), Wolfgang Alexander KOLAR (“PräNUDGE”), Klaudia KWIATKOWSKA (“eBRAIN Health”) and Ibrahim SABRA (“PHASE IV AI”). The workshop will be moderated by Katarzyna BARUD.
