COMMUTE is an EU-funded project investigating links between COVID-19 and neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s, using AI/ML and knowledge-based approaches to better understand connections between COVID-19 and brain health.

This panel brings together experts from across disciplines to examine the complex and evolving nature of post-COVID suffering through a patient-centered lens:
- How can patient-centered care for post-COVID conditions better address physical, cognitive, psychological, and social needs, and what role can AI play in supporting integrated care?
- What legal and ethical challenges arise from the use of AI in healthcare, particularly regarding transparency, bias, informed consent, accountability, and data governance?
- How can policymakers, healthcare providers, and technology developers ensure equitable access to AI-enabled healthcare innovations while safeguarding patient rights?
