Xeni Zygoulianou studied law at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and spent a semester in Vienna as part of the Erasmus program. During this time, she discovered her interest in European integration, as well as in Single Market law and its various facets. This interest has gradually focused on digital law, particularly its connection with the life sciences, the healthcare sector and intellectual property law.
She is currently completing her Master’s degree at the Europa-Institut of Saarland University, where she is writing her Master’s thesis entitled ‘Health data in the EU from the perspectives of access, free movement, research and data protection: Challenges and Solutions’.
Her current internship from March to June 2026 at the Institute of Innovation and Digitalisation in Law gives her the opportunity to fully pursue her future plans in the field of digital law and to make a meaningful contribution to ongoing projects.
In addition, she works as a junior AI researcher at the National Institute for AI, Data Protection and Digital Governance Law, focusing on the generation of synthetic data for applications in the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors, with a particular emphasis on intellectual property issues.
